Meet Our Staff

At Tinytown happy and content staff are as important as happy children. We work at keeping our staff for
long periods to ensure stability for the children and a consistent learning environment.

All our staff are required under legislation to have a Diploma/Bachelor of Teaching ECE, or working towards a full qualification.
We take a pro-active approach to staff development and provide ongoing support, encouragement and opportunities for our
teaching and administrative staff to ensure their skills are relevant, informed and professional.

Mabuhay! I am Elisa from Cebu, Philippines.  I have a NZ ECE Graduate Diploma with full registration.  I have been an educator since 1993 including my teaching experience overseas.  During my teaching career I have discovered that “respect” is very significant in working with children.  One way to create this mutual respect is to become involved in the children’s lives. I am pleased to welcome you all at Tinytown.

Hi, I’m Mary.  My job is to research and ensure Tinytown keeps current and up to date with the latest wonderful educational resources available.  I prepare the resources and teachers manuals.  Tania and I are lucky, we have the privilege of working in the best office upstairs with a great view over the Pakuranga Estuary!

About me...

Hi I’m Leanne, I am proud to say I have been part of the Tinytown head office team since 2004.  My administrator role keeps me busy with all things ‘paperwork’ and making sure that all of our centres administrative requirements are met to the high standards of the Ministry of Education, as well as accounts, payroll and personnel.  I assist closely with management and liaise with and support our centre managers. A bonus is seeing the smiling happy little faces of the children whenever I visit reception.

Hi!  My name is Rupi, raised in Samoa but have lived in NZ since 1990.  I have a Diploma ECE and full registration.  Previously a community support worker I changed to teaching ECE in 1998.  I believe that the children learn from exploration and using their senses,  I am passionate about supporting all children and their development through the learning programmes provided by Tinytown.

Hi I’m Gurjit .  During my 18 + years at Tinytown Pakuranga and Otahuhu centres I have worked with all age groups. To begin with it was a challenge for me to work with the little ones as I was initially a high school teacher back home in Fiji, but with the support of other teachers and the Directors teaching young children is now a passion for me, nurturing and caring for them as they grow. I have a Diploma ECE with full registration.

Hi I’m Gale and I am the Fee’s administrator for all of Tinytown’s centres.  I am responsible for invoicing and fee related queries.  I also support head office with other administration related work.  I have been with Tinytown since 2010 where I have watched children grow from babies to 5 year olds leaving for school, happily learning, thriving and being nurtured in a caring environment.

Hello I am Tania.  I have enjoyed working with the team at Tinytown for 34 years as an office assistant, resource support and reliever in the centres.  I get a lot of satisfaction from contributing to the children’s education.  My favourite thing to do each day is visit the babies centre when I arrive at work.

As Tinytown Directors , we are qualified ECE registered teachers and are responsible to the Ministry of Education for the continued license registration, quality education and care and viability of Tinytown. We have been fully involved and totally committed to ECE since 1973 and have held various responsibilities within the NZ early childhood community. We take a personal interest in the day to day care and education of the children and act with honesty and in good faith at all times.

Hi I’m Alice, I started out as a childcare assistant in the centres, firstly at our Otahuhu complex then at Pakuranga.  I have now transferred to the resource department where I help prepare the hugely extensive resources that Tinytown has to offer.   I believe that all children are unique and given the right tools/resources and a safe environment to explore will flourish in anything they wish to do.
