Children love to discover and what better way to explore our world than through fun, play and interaction. For all children, the transition to school is a challenging one so we nurture a love of learning to ensure this journey is enjoyable and rewarding.

Our 'towns' are a daily hive of activity and are divided into groupings with children of similar ages. All activities interweave into each child's learning journey.

Each month brings a new theme developed to extend the knowledge, experience and exploration for each child.

The goals and learning outcomes of Te Whariki are integral to our daily activities, ensuring children gain a strong cultural awareness and appreciation of their place in society.

The early childhood curriculum includes daily activities according to the age and development of each child. These include creative play, language, music, books and story telling, dramatic or fantasy play, manipulative play, construction, physical activity, life skills, character development, recognition of colours, shapes, pre-reading, pre-writing and school preparation.
Nursery from birth - 15 months

School children from 5 years - 12 years
Our staff offer a secure and happy environment where the babies learn trust and feel safe. We have a high staff-child ratio and encourage daily parent-staff communication. Programme planning is based on observation of children's emerging interests and growing abilities. We supply daily report books for each baby and individual portfolios.
Children's independence is encouraged by learning self care skills, like feeding themselves and knowing their own belongings. They have a range of activities both indoors and outdoors that they choose to experience. Language skills and the ability to concentrate are developed through story telling, group games, singing, musical activities, painting and simple construction work.
Children are given opportunity for learning in specific age groups. This programme encourages independence, children's choice, structured learning, group and individual activities, problem solving, social skills. The children are introduced to a wide range of subjects, letters, pre-reading, numbers, writing comprehension, shapes, colours and cultural activities.

As an extension to the daily programme, the pre-school children often go on field trips. These are an important part of the programme and are thoroughly enjoyed by the children.
